Patina Octopus

Hello dear friends!
I’ll show you how I make a card with patina effect. I have colored the octopus with distress pens.

I love using cheese cloth!

Some papers from Stamperia, an Octopus stamp from Tim Holtz and wellpapp from my stash.

I’ve added all papers in layers with different stages.

I’m using cartoon to make big pieces 3D.

Layers... layers... layers... :)

Even the Octopus is with 3D for more dimensions.

Those are the colors I’ve used.

I added some shells from my stash. And from Prima there are two metal decorations.

After green and blue layers I’ve dried everything with heat gun.

In the end I add this lovely color. It makes lovely effect.

Layers, Patina and Octopus. Can you see the pearls I’ve added to the shells.

Tick Tock

                                             Tick Tock

I have done a 12x12 canvas  using loads of Stamperia products! this was a bit more challenging for me! It turned out so bold! Hope you all enjoy this one!

Here I took the black and white clocks Stamperia rice paper and tore it,positioning it in each corner

Next I took some cheese clothe and drenched it in Finnabair Art Extravagance Sculpture Medium
This medium gives you plenty of time to play with it, but when it dries, that's it! its hard as a rock! This stuff is perfect for sculpting cheese clothe ,fabric, even paper  into whatever shape you desire!

So while the cheese clothe is still wet I start adding some embellishments I made from resin out of the Stamperia moulds. That way I can drape them on and off the embellshments. I used Finnabair Heavy Body Gel to glue them down.

Showing you my embellishment process. you can kinda see where im moving around the cheesecloth.

I have added a lot of embellishments in here, Prima typo bulbs, Finnabair mini roman numerals, Prima bolts and nuts.Creative embellishment Gears and cogs. I then added a good thick layer of Finnabair white crackle on top of the embellishments. I also added a layer of Finnabair Clear Crackle everywhere else. Looks foggy but don't worry it dries clear!

After It all dried I used the Stamperia Stencil Gears and Hands and added texture paste on top of the clocks papers and on the sides. I wanted the clocks to kinda fall back into the canvas.

This is just a dried up close pic of that crackle!

My favorite part ! Time to add color! Here I'm sprinkling on Nuance powder in Aquamarine. sprinkle spritz with water and repeat.

Same here, I'm using Nuance powder in Nutmeg! I repeated this color quite a few times to make it dark and rich in color!

Do you see some brown in there? That my friends is coffee I have in a dripper bottle! everyone has that right? I also addes some lindy's spray as a mist to give it a shine, and some magicals powder in teal for some contrast.

Adding Finnabairs wax in Rich Copper To all the edges and raised bits to give a good texture!

I finished it off with using Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black to all the sides and edges I blend it in farther then others points for that "boom" look Some white spashes with Gesso and I'm calling it done!

Hope you all like it! Don't forget to pop back in Next friday for Milos walk through tutorial!

ATC - Cats and shabby

Hi crafting friends! I’ll show you today how I made my ATC cards for our swap at Facebook. The theme is “A tribute for My Rusty Crown”, and this is typical things you can buy in the shop.

I’ve used those thick lovely cat chipboards for my cards. I decided to emboss them with “Charred gold” embossing powder. As we all know, the embossing powder will fly away when you use the heating gun, so I like to use clear “Emboss it” dabber.

The Emboss dabber is very easy to use. I cover the whole cats with the sticky medium.

On top of the sticky cats I added the embossing powder and melt it with a heater gun. To not burn your fingers, hold it with a tweezer.

I wanted wings on the cats, and had those butterflies from Stampotique.

I distressed all paper edges with edge scraper. I’m using two layers of papers to make it look like a frame around.

After glueing all papers, cats, wings, some buttons and text I found in my stash, I added white crackle paint here and there. I splashed coffe on the cards, and dried everything with my heating gun.

Here are the done cards. Thanks for looking!
Big Hugs from me! // Milo Lilja <3

Stamperia Inspired Book Box!

My very first project done for My Rusty Crowns blog! How exciting!
I went all out on this one! I even used the box all my Goodies were sent in!
I seen a video a while back using foam, so wanted to try that technique
I Started out with the USPS box, Cut it and turned it into a big book Box.
Next I used some foam sheets and cut them up into different sized rectangles.
I used Nuvo drops the add dots to each corner of the foam!
Adding Black Gesso everywhere!
Next I used some gel medium and stuck down a rice paper from the stamperia mixed media post cards
taking some acrylic paint I blended the paint into the paper and added some brick stamping from the Visible Image stamp set Teenage Kick
Here I make the "Book pages" using Modeling paste, I Smoothed it on with a palette knife and used a comb to give the "page" effect.
Here Im aging the pages with Coffee!
Now I use the Rust effect paste Starting with the darkest color and layering until I like the look!
Next I used Fractured Ice embossing powder  on my embellishments .
this powder looks different depending on the layer of color  underneath
I used Stamperia moulds from the alchemy set. gear and cog chipboard and a hot air balloon chippie and that's it! I hope you all like it!
Let me know what you all think! or give some suggestions of what you would like to see if the future!
Here is a product list of Items Used for this project!
