Build your wings

Happy Happy Friday! Today I'm showing you this 6x6  wood panel.

6x6 wood panel

one coat of white Gesso.

I started off with Using the Finnabair Liquid Acrylic in tiger orange.

Next I applied Deco Art Crackle paste with a spatula ... It came out amazing!

for some added texture I applied modeling paste through a stencil.

here I used very thin chipboard and made the Tim Holtz Faceted Hearts, I gave a first layer of Oxide sprays in walnut stain and fired brick. ( I change my mind after and change it up anyway)

So this is where I changed it and glued on Stamperia rice paper I just cut into tiny triangles and used Matte Gel. I then took red ink and cover the rice paper and added Tim Holtz Hardware Heads that I colored with Finnabair wax in (Vintage Gold).

added my embellishments and covered them in gesso.

Now its ready for some color. I took the infusions powders in (Rusty Car) (Green Man) (A Bit Jaded) spritzed my project with water and gave them all a shake.. a little more water till I got the desired look!

After the infusions dried I glued down my hearts and added a sentiment from Finnabair. I also added Art Pebbles from Art C ! Ill provide links to all products used below!

Iron Transformation

Today I'm Showing you how I altered this "Sad Iron" (Circa 1800's) into something new and beautiful to look at!

From the 17th century, sadirons or sad irons (from Middle English "sad" meaning of "solid", used in modern English through the 1800s) began to be used. They werethick slabs of cast iron, triangular and with a handle, heated in a fire or on a stove. These were also called flat irons.

This is what my iron started off looking like, I snatched this up at a sale for $5 bucks the scissors are from my stash, and the bottom I will attach is just old flooring I cut up!

So here I took old lace, sisal and moss. I sandwiched it to the bottom with my old flooring using Heavy gel medium!

just a shot of the goodies glued on.

Next is prepping! So I went with Clear Gesso over the whole thing!

I wrapped twine around the base of the handles and spritzed some Tim Holts Distress Oxide (Iced Spruce)

the top of the handle I glued down with gel medium Finnabair Tissue paper. I added Prima resins to the scissors handles. I also took a spool of black thread, Painted it white then un twined some string from it to get that zig zag look. You will see I wrap that leftover thread throughout the whole thing as I work! everything also gets some white gesso lightly over it.

Here I add foliage and flowers. a paper ruler and this Imagine tag from Stamperia wooden shapes

next I take more Oxide spray ( Spiced Marmalade) with a paint brush I paint it on to my desired pieces.

Now White Gesso dry brushed and I added some Prills using Liquid Glass Adhesive! Thats all she wrote! hope you all like it! As always product list will be down below!

Mechanical Thinking!

Happy Friday! Today I made you a Canvas with the new Stamperia rice paper, TH Oxide sprays, TH transparent wings and Finnabair moulds

I started with a 8x8 canvas, I cut my rice paper to fit, then used the leftover to fill in the rest of the canvas! its worked out perfect! I just used mod Podge, if you dont have that you can use glue watered down, or soft gel medium!

Next i covered the whole thing with Clear Gesso! I used an inktence pencil in brown and black to add extra shading to the girls face and hand. I also used the pencil to add some extra splatters.

here I used the same pencils to give her some extra hair and bangs.

now I used randon background stamps to add some extra texture to the page. I also sprayed the canvas with water and sprinkled Rusty Car Infusions powder. it added a perfect texture!

a better look!

here I take foam sheets and cut them in different sizes

I'm just going to town build a composition!

I painted the foam with black gesso then sprayed them with Oxide sprays!

Now I took some resin pieces from the finnabair mould and stacked them on as well!

I added some metals from Tim Holtz and some flowers!

I took Finnabair wax in Copper and went over the gears! and added the transparent wings! I edged the canvas with black Archival ink and splattered more oxide around her face.
