Santa Journal Spread

Hey MRC! Hope your Friday is going great!
Today I have a journal spread using Christmas rice paper and Andy Skinner lava paste!

Alot of times I journal in old books,
I started off with a layer of clear gesso to prime my page,
We want it to be sturdy enough to hold up to all the mediums I throw at it.

Next layer is my rice paper,
I tore up all the edges so when its glued down you dont see any harsh lines.
I just used regular old mod podge.

Now before I start with my paste I give it another go with gesso, mod podge is a glue so that will make a resist. I need the gesso so my colors will sit on top.
Now here Im using a TH stencil and Andy Skinner Lava Paste.

You spread on your paste and heat set it with you heat tool.
Look at all that texture it creates!

I also took some white geoo and cover up some of the wording from the book pages.

Now My colors, You can use any you want,I'm using Lindy's.
Just spritz on and spray with water to get it to flow

Some stamping.

I took a pencil and shaded all around my pictures to make them stand out!

some word clippings and its done!

XOXO Nicole

For you

Hello!
I have decorated a small book box and sprayed with those lovely color rich shimmer sprays from Dylusions.

I glued some decorations to my book. After dried, I added Finnabairs rust paste to make look a bit old.

After I added all I wanted to my book I colored everything with black gesso.

I used the Dylusion sprays in some different colors. They have lovely colors and they are soo rich in color.

I used a pencil to add the spray colors inside. I wanted the heart to pop a bit so I used some Ice Resin from Susan Lenart Kazmer in it.

Take care! Love Milo

recycled art

Hello MRC!!!  Happy Friday to you all!

Today I am altering a gesso lid! I love keeping all my lids from products used, they can be turned into beautiful things!

starting with my black lid

I cover it with white gesso and start gluing objects inside

bottle cap lids of all sizes

resins from stamperia moulds, I coverd these with DecoArt Media crackle paste

Now Im adding colors. I used  browns and blue acrylic sprays, you can use whatever brands you have

a little glue and glitter, I used frosting powder glitter, its great when heat set.

adding some white gesso dry brush, it helps bring out all the details!

I finished it off by adding some gems, flowers, wire, and sisal

Thats it super simple project! Ill probably add a magnet on the back too!
