Steampunk Embroidery Hoop

Hey MRCI! Hope your Saturday is filled with Inspiration and all things Creative! Today I have a 7 inch Steampunk Inspired Embroidery Hoop That was altered with some new amazing Resin and Stamps from Stamperia, colored with Tim Holtz new Distress Oxide Sprays and finished of with wax from Finnabair!

I started off with the A5 soft Stamperia mould, these moulds are thin and sturdy. you can use clay, resin modeling paste, really the possibilities are endless! I used Fast Cast resin. spreading it with a credit card. took 10 mins to dry!  they look awesome!

Next step was prepping my hoop. I used old cardboard packaging, wet it a bit and fit it right into my hoop! heat dry and its ready!

Now for the resins, I first layed down a layer of black gesso. when dry I used some gel medium to secure down my resin. I used the Steampunk train and Time Machine moulds. Ripping them with my hands to fit where I wanted them to be!

More Black Gesso

Color! This is always the best part for me! I used the new Distress Oxide sprays (Mermaid Lagoon) and (Cracked Pistachio) I heat set these before moving on to the next colors.

Here I added (Spiced Marmalade)  (Fossilized Amber) and (Vintage Photo)

While thats Drying I get some more resin out from the New A4 Mechanism mould also from Stamperia and give them a coat of black gesso
I also used the Mechanical Animals Stamp set from stamperia! I used mixed media paper Stamped my images and embossed them with black embossing powder!

I just used some water color to add a nice vintage look to them!

gave my resin a dusting of wax in (Rich Copper)

Its all gluing them down and splashing the oxide with water! Done! cute Steampunk wall filler! Ill post product list down below! XOXO Nicole

Dina Wakley Journal Spread!

Today I wanted to showcase the new Dina wakley  6X6 journal

Lets talk about this journal for just a sec!

Dina Wakley Media 6x6 White Journal! Heavyweight 440gsm cotton pages for mixed media art and journaling! 36 pages of 100% cold pressed cotton paper.

Can you see the thickness of these pages? Absolutely the best!

Okay now lets get Inky! I started off With Ice paste effect through a stencil and let dry!

I absolutely had to try out the new TH Oxide sprays! I just spritzes some water and added color in layeres. I used Fossilized amber and walnut stain! these colors are just amazing for that old vintage look!

now some stamping! I used the new mini stamps from prima for background noise. and some St. patty day ones to go with my vision! I really do just randomly stamp!

So I wanted the background to be more busy and decided to add some sprinkles of  paper artsy infusion. I used emerald isle, these powders have to different crystal effects in them, your dye ink crystal and a walnut crystal. so when sprayed you get this beautiful swirl of green and walnut brown!

here I just added some doodles with acrylic paint. then used a micro pen for some detail outlining!

I used vellum for my flowers and made a alcohol ink four leaf clover to finish it off! I probably edged the pages with black ink cause thats my go to finish along with splashes!! LOL of course products used listed below! xoxo Nicole

Tea Time

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I'm gonna show you I altered the Finnabair Teapot Using Visible Image Stamps!

I  love the grunged up look of the Frame! I wont be doing much with that cause its already perfect! The back comes off easily for adding you things!

Here I took some thick Jewelry wire and glued it in the spout. I'll be adding things to this at the end!

Here Im painting the background. I used white gesso, Finnabair acrylic Liquids and sprinkled on some infusions powder.I sprayed the powder with water the get a blue sky effect.

My Daughter made me this half table from Popsickle sticks!

In the bottom here I add Green floral Moss. I spread on some soft gel medium and Stick it down.

These Alice in wonderland stamps by Visible Image are awesome! I colored them with Watercolors.

I took Brown permanent ink and edged along everything to give a good vintage look.

I covered the Table with some cheesecloth. Gotta get it ready for the Tea Party!

Added The back on and put the mushroom in there!

I Took some stamps and Black archival and decorated the outside of the frame too!

After adding the stamps on, I gave them all a thin layer of gel medium just to give them some strength!
I took the small stamps and added them to the table and the wire coming from the spout!

I colored the wooden Numbers with TH Oxide sprays!
and also used Finnabair was in Peacock to add just a touch more color to the frame!

Hope you all like it!
