Altered Hand Trowel

Altered Hand Trowel

Happy Friday!! I was sent o glorious box of happy mail the other day (Thank you Lexington) and inside that box was a hand trowel, I know most people would be confused and have no clue what its for! ART its for ART.  Okay most people might use it for gardening. I kinda did too!

I just love this! I'll hang it in my sun room!

This is what it started off as! I added a coat of clear gesso to it!

I took my flowers and started winding them around the handle.

I took moss and attached it with gel medium

Now I added my embellishments i used some finnabair mechanicals (vintage trinkets)

I also started ripping up and adding Tim Holtz collage paper to the handle and the back. and coated the whole thing in white gesso.

Now for some color! I just love using the nuance pigment powders! You can sprinkle them on and spritz with water, you can sprinkle sum in a paint palette spritz with water and use as a water color. You can even put them in a water bottle and use as sprays! love these powders!!
Colors I used are (Raspberry) (Bright green) (Purple) and (Aqua Marine)

After super dry, I dry brushed this with more white gesso.

While that was drying I used a visible Image stamp ( Glimmer of Light)  and used the same nuance powders, Stamped and colored it in. Lastly I added all my finishing touches (the best part). I added prills in (spruce willis)  Finnabair glass Glitter (pitch black) Nuvo Crystal drops and Jewel drops in (ebony black) (pale periwinkle) a Tim Holtz quote and BAM done!

Altered Grunge Book

Altered Grunge Book
Happy Happy Happy Friday! Today I'm showing you how I altered a Book, not the Cover! The whole thing!  After I finished this one, I am so Inspired to make another with a whole different look!

I bought this book fro my local dollar tree for $1

I started off with covering the whole thing with Clear Gesso, I also used the gesso to stick some of the pages together.

Next I used Tim Holtz New Idea-Ology Collage paper  (Aviary) and stuck those down with Distress Collage Medium -Crazing-, Then added Tim Holtz Design Tape (Collector and Merchant). His design Tapes are so Yummy to look at!

Here I stenciled on Modeling paste

I took Cheese Clothe, Medical tape and ribbon and stuck it in between some of the pages.

I wanted to lighten it up a bit so I used White Gesso and kinda dry brushed some areas.

Now here is where we get grungy!!! I used Metal Rust Effect Paste from Finnabair and kinda dragged it along the sides and corners.

I used Matte Gel Medium, Art Stones and Mini art stones to add some texture .

I used a coffee spray I made myself and soaked the sides, top and bottom of the book. Then I grabbed yellow spray and let it drip down the top with the help of some water.

I added prills (Spruce Willis) and Used the Glimmer Of Light Stamp set by Visible Image.
I Grunged up a Tim Holtz Adornment tag (Foundry) tied bakers twine to it and Stapled it right on!

I grunged up some resin wings with the metal rust pastes and used Finnabair mechanicals (Pocket Watch and Metal Lotus), Did Some splashes with coffee and Stamperia Aqua Color. And done!

It’s that heart...

Good day everyone!
This is a tag card made with papers from Stamperia, crackle paint from Prima/Finnabair, architextures from 7 Gypsies and oxide colors from Tim Holtz. I have also used some decorations from my stash.

First I made the tag. I added some well Papp and cheese cloth. I cut out the heart from Stamperias paper.

I cut out the words from the quote that I found in Stamperias stack.

I glued this together. The architexture from 7 Gypsies is adhesive on the back so it was easy to add to my tag.

I added some details from my stash and Metal tiny junkyard findings from Prima/Ingvild Bolme.

I glued the words... and I draw with a pen around the words to make them pop a bit.

I added the tag to a card base and added some flowers and pearls from my stash. I used Prima/Finnabairs white crackle paint here and there.

And in the end I splashed Tim Holtz Oxides with a mix of color and water.

Have a lovely weekend!
